Spring Pillow Finish

Whew!  It's been a busy couple of weeks!

My sweet husband and I celebrated our 16th anniversary!

I joined the UFO Club (quilting, not aliens 👽...LOL) at my local quilt shop...my first in-person quilting community!

I had 2 fun filled days with my bestie, one with just our babies and the other with all the kids.

A stomach bug hit the family o.o

My 3rd little started softball.  I was TERRIBLE at softball, like seriously laughable, so I hope she really enjoys it and shows me up 🤣

AND I finished the t-shirt quilt top I've been working on (I should be finished with it completely in the next day or so) and made a fun spring pillow cover 💜

I'm thrilled to have this quilt nearly finished.  I had planned on having it done last weekend, but that nasty stomach bug had different plans for us...yuck!

I really like the colors in this one.  The reds and yellow pop so nicely with all the black and grey!

I'll have a full post coming up on the UFO Club, but the goal is to motivate us to complete unfinished projects during the year.  We submit a list of projects and each month a number is drawn and that's the project that's due to be finished by the next meeting.  If it's not done, you pay $5, but if it's done, you bring it and show it off and everyone oooh's and ahhh's.  It's good fun, then at the end of the year a party is thrown with the money gathered.

So, for my first finished UFO, I made this spring pillow case.  I've been slowly working on making cases for my sofa cushions.  You know that ones that automatically come with the sofas?  I've always disliked mine and am constantly turning them around where the pattern doesn't show...lol

I had a couple charm packs and solid fat quarters from years ago and decided they'd be perfect to make some fun spring covers.  I'd finished 2 previously and here's the third!

For the drama...

I particularly love the pink and greens in these pillows.  The winter brings me the sads, so these cheer my mood whenever I see them.

I've Linked up today with...TGIFF and Can I Get a Whoop Whoop?.  Head on over and see what other lovelies have been finished up this week!

Life update and 2 Finished Quilts!

Hello, Hello!  It's definitely been a hot minute since I posted here, but I'm planning on changing that!  Since I was here last, I've continued quilting.  Honestly, I have been so busy creating custom t-shirt quilts for my local clientelle that I've lost focus everywhere else.

Even more exciting that being busy with custom quilts is that our family has grown!  We welcome our sweetie baby girl (girl #4!) in January of 2022.  My world was completely flipped upside down as I'd not had a baby in 8 years.

Well, she's not a busy toddler who is walking and climbing and into EVERYTHING.

Having a baby definitely has not made quilting easier, but it has reminded me of what's important and given me a renewed desire to work for my dreams.  I'll be sharing more of the exciting things coming up soon!

In the meantime, here are the last 2 quilts I finished!  These were a fun combo involving concert t-shirts for the same client.

They are each approximately 40" x 50", or what I call the "baby quilt size" for ordering.

I used a medium grey thread to quilt them with a simple meandering pattern.  I find meandering is my go-to for t-shirt quilts as it allows some softness without over-quilting.

I kept the binding nice and simple, using the solid red for the rock concert quilt and a simple, tone-on-tone grey for the Christian concert quilt.

Well, it feels good to back to writing and sharing here 💜

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Happy quilting!
